How long can a standing seam metal roof last?

Is a metal roof loud in the rain?
Over a solid roof deck with underlayment, attic space and insulation, the interior sound is usually much less dramatic than people imagine. The complete assembly matters more than the panel alone.
Can metal roofing go over an existing roof?
